Default Tactics PvP Warrior? Why the hell not?! ^_^

Tactics is the scoffed build for Warriors in PvP. Why? Due to the notion that it's too defensive taking away from a warrior's percieved ONLY DO THIS role of high damage. However, there are some tactics placement that can cause you to do a lot worse then just dealing dmg. [imagine the entire enemy team out of energy?]

Stats are based on the powerful energy management skills at a warrior's disposal and that sword skills compliment tactics quite well.

12+1+3 Tactics
8+1 Swordsmanship
7+1 Strength
8 Blood Magic
----------------------------------------------------
Random Arena build

Fear Me!
Deadly Riposte
Frenzy
Sprint
Gladiator's Defense {E}
Healing Signet
Bonetti's Defense
Plague Touch

With Tactics this high, Fear Me!, according to the Guild Wars homepage, will drain at least 7 energy from the percieved Ward Radius every 4 swings... 7e/4s. = ZERO ENERGY REGEN 4EVAR!!! 4 Stances is both crazy and ridiculous but each does it's job for the warrior under heavy fire and on the move. Healing sig will pretty much save your butt from any DoT they'll be throwing at you and @ 0 energy, it's a charm. The energy from Bonetti's should just feed Deadly riposte as there'll no doubt be idiot warriors attacking your backside. Gladiator's and Bonetti's should pretty much make you immune to any physical or projectile attacks and the massive energy drain ensures that magical spells will be tough for your enemies to use.
------------------------------------------------------
Team Arena Build

Fear Me!
Thrill of Victory
Desperation Blow
Charge! {E}
Frenzy
Plague Touch
Strip Enchantment
Res Sig

More offensive then defensive vs. the Random arena build, this build assumes you're packing a monk. The movement buff nails everyone meaning your whole team should be able to literally out-position your foes to a good degree. Draining massive energy from most if not the entire enemy team still remains top priority and Thrill of Victory + Desperation Blow is an awkward, but still existant spike. Too bad one of the random conditions isn't dazed [holy mackerel...]...
---------------------------------------------------
GvG HoH team build... Where 8 foes will know fear...

Fear Me!
Shield's Up!
Watch Yourself!
Frenzy
Charge! {E}
Strip Enchantment / Mark of Subversion
Plague Touch
Res Sig

To get the most bang for your buck out of Tactics, one needs to have the entire team benefit, and with 8 foes losing 7 energy each and 7 teammates gaining immunity from projectiles, faster movement, and +20 armor, this is the true TEAM PLAYER build... They say Watch Yourself is pointless to have past 4s. but it's best to just keep adrenaline feed to Fear Me! and keep most if not the entire enemy team at 0 and lower energy regen. Use Watch Yourself again sparingly and you can spam Fear even longer and harder. Mark of Subversion used to be 25 energy [bah] but now that it's been dropped to something more usable, a warrior can now carry it. This build is quite energy heavy but thankfully, smart skill use will keep it from dumping too low. Strip Enchantment is the only 10e. skill in this build with slow recharge and decent heal/cast time. This build can also go 8 curses instead to bring Rend into play.
----------------------------------------------------

Definitely a goofy way to place Tactics into a warrior build however, what I'm wary of is if the GW webpage is accurate. If Fear Me! is this strong, then this will effectively shut down any and all foes within healing range of the enemy monk, including the monk, making this warrior quite devastating when his conditions/hexes are kept under control...

Your thoughts?

You said it yourself actually. Most skills in the tactics line are designed to reduce the amount of damage given to the warrior, not deal out damage... which is ironically what a warrior should be doing in any pvp situation. You're not going to kill anything with those builds. First off, you don't even have 12 swordsmanship, so you're doing even less than 15-21 dmg per swing. Second off, you have 7 points invested into strength, but out of the three builds you have only two attack skills. Your first build doesn't even have an attack skill at all, nor does your third... does something sound wrong there?

Don't get me wrong, fear me is an excellent skill. You can create a perfectly good build that deals good damage, and uses fear me as well. You don't need to go pumping tactics to 16 and use pure shit like riposte and deadly riposte. Also, on a side note: the max energy that fear me can drain is 4, and the breakpoint for that is 13, so having tactics any higher than 13 is really just a waste.

Strip Enchantment

With Tactics this high, Fear Me!, according to the Guild Wars homepage, will drain at least 7 energy from the percieved Ward Radius every 4 swings... 7e/4s. = ZERO ENERGY REGEN 4EVAR!!! When people start firing projectiles and swinging at you, the two Ripostes will ensure powerful punishment as well as protection from dmg. Victory is Mine is a spike heal with this setup and Plague Touch ensures you'll keep getting energy for it. That energy should be used to feed Strip Enchantment, Deadly Riposte, and more Plague Touch.

Yeah I have some. How about you actually try the builds you post? Then you'd see Fear Me drain 5 energy at 16 not 7. Oh and offense is crap, healing is crap for random arena. You have no conditions of your own, except deadly riposte which is conditional(like if they have no warriors, you are screwed). This means that if opponent doesn't deal conditions to you to use plague touch, you are gonna die like a pig. Your healing comes from ViM exclusively. With 16 tactics it is mind boggling you don't use healing signet.

If you are gonna be making fear me build at least test some out and actually put some effort and research into it, not just theorycraft.

Theorycraft is what one does to save time...

If I just tested them myself, why would I care what you guys think if it works or does not? Then there'd really be no point to it all. That and I was just trying something different. I never said it'd be the best or the most efficient, hell, there's more than one way to do something right?

If you're gonna bash me for going outside cookie cutter thinking than go ahead... Not like your text is anything for me to be afraid of... And I liked Eonwe's post far better than your condescending pile of excrement...

I said it before, and I guess I need to say it again. The maximum amount of energy that Fear Me can drain is 4.

Also, Yukito. Plague Signet is trash. It's such a waste of en elite slot on a warrior .

For a sword warrior, there's not much elites to work with... Hundred Blades without enchant buffs won't cut it. and doing OoP + OoV isn't worth the energy to buff. I guess maybe Barbs? Plague signet saves energy and in this conditions heavy arena where every warrior is nailed with every hindering condition in the book, unless you've got that Martyr or Draw conditions smiter... There's not much else to work with using a sword...

[go axe!]

Well I chose sword for this build so calm yoself down...

Hopefully you can come up with a build that doesn't need to have all of the frenzy, sprint, and res sig as defaults...

Everybody brings those...
